People look at me and think I’m naturally like this but I’m not. I’ve worked hard but more importantly the coaches have helped me achieve my targets. Training with weights isn’t scary and neither are the trainers.

WHS: What do you feel you have achieved since you’ve been at WHS?
SR: I have lost weight and lots of body fat (from 20.1% to 11.9%). I’ve become smaller which means I’ve dropped dress sizes from 14 to 4-6 and now I look good!
WHS: What was your training like before WHS?
SR: I used to do 5 sessions of spin a week and 2 sessions of body pump with an occasional swim.
WHS: What’s your training like now?
SR: Now I only do 3-4 sessions a week which includes lots of squats! I also make the effort to come to Modified Strongman Training. I tend to get a lot of prowler sprints and always feel I’ve worked my hardest by the end of the session.
WHS: What’s unique about the training we do?
SR: I have a program tailored for my needs which I’ve never had before. I also enjoy having a trainer there motivating me because otherwise I would give up as I know I’m pretty useless at working hard by myself! I love the training and can honestly say I’ve developed a (healthy) gym addiction. I’m actually grumpy if I’m not training and thrown out the house by my boyfriend to go to gym!

WHS: What was your nutrition like before WHS?
SR: I ate lots of carbs, pasta, potatoes, rice, lots of dairy, especially cheese, and very little protein. My nutrition basically consisted of milk, chocolate, loads and loads of bread, with intermittent drinking! I also tended to indulge on sweets, loads of crisps and doughnuts. Sounds terrible doesn’t it!
WHS: How has BioSignature helped you?
SR: It motivates me as I see myself getting leaner as you can see the measurements dropping from week to week. It can be competitive as I want to be leanest at WHS and be on the record board! It gives me the motivation to not eat poor food choices especially as I know I’m getting measured every week!
WHS: What have you learned?
SR: The biggest thing has to be that cardio doesn’t make you lose body fat. I’m officially proof as I used to do a lot of spinning and body pump but now I do none of that and have never looked better! Also training with weights doesn’t make you put on extreme amounts of muscle which is a big worry for most women. I also don’t need to spend hours in the gym to look good, it’s all about quality not quantity!.
WHS: What would you tell others about your experience of WHS?
SR: People look at me and think I’m naturally like this but I’m not. I’ve worked hard but more importantly the coaches have helped me achieve my targets. Training with weights isn’t scary and neither are the trainers, unless you don’t squat all the way down!
WHS: In one sentence what makes us different to other gyms?
SR: You get results here
WHS: What’s next for you?
SR: Unfortunately I’m moving to Essex but will be searching for a Poliquin certified trainer because they get results and I will never do cardio again!

As a trainer and PICP Strength Coach myself, WHS is the first place I look to if I need advice or to improve my knowledge. Tom is a very knowledgeable coach, I have learnt alot of my current techniques and training philosophies from his expertise. If you’re on the South Coast get yourself to WHS.
